I first encountered The Muscle Club almost a year ago where they were supporting Future Of The Left at Cardiff's Clwb Ifor Bach. Back then I thought the Cardiff based band had something special about them, and was confident they'd be on alot of peoples radars pretty quick. That was certainly helped by their BBC session at Maida Vale, releasing their debut single, and playing as many shows as possible.Now their back with some brand new material courtesy of their recent 4 Arches Demo sessions, and it's fair to say i'm very impressed. They have maintained the core elements - energy, catchy melodies, and superb guitar, but added a much more grittier overall sound. For me this mainly comes from a production side, with the drums and bass seeming more apparent then their previous work.
The band will be on their first UK tour in March and i'm sure they'll make lots of new friends. Check their myspace for more information.
