It was back in 2011 when we reviewed 'The Draft', the debut album from Texas emo rock three-piece Football, Etc. Having kept tabs on the band since it's pleasing that this year sees the band release their third record, 'Corner', through Barely Regal Records.
The album was recorded by J Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) over the course of a 5 day period, and was mastered at the Sun Room Studios in Hudson Valley, New York. There are 10 tracks in total with the record clocking just over 32 minutes in length.
Whilst the band (Lindsay Minton, Mercy Harper, Daniel Hawkins) have maintained their strong emo credentials and nostalgic nod to 90's melodic rock bands, Corner has a clear, dominant, and unique sound that is completely Football, Etc and a sound that has definitely matured over the past 6 years.
