'Crushing' is the second full-length album to come from Australian singer/songwriter Julia Jacklin. Available through Polyvinyl and Transgressive, the 10 track record comes in at just under the 40 minute mark and was produced by Burke Reid (Courtney Barnett), and recorded at The Grove Studios.

Crushing begins with 'Body', which is apt since the main theme of the album is to do with people's personal space both physically and mentally. Lyrically the album is bold and revealing, with breakups and relationships poured over intrinsically.

Sonically the songs are sparse at times, lending to Jacklin's hushed yet demanding vocals taking centre stage, but others are more focused upon the music which is guitar led, interspersed with moments of piano and prominent drums.

Catch Julia Jacklin on tour throughout March/April in the UK, and elsewhere throughout the year.
