New York singer-songwriter Torres (Mackenzie Scott) first appeared on Music Liberation back in 2013, when we reviewed her self titled debut album and also got the chance to interview her. Since then she's released further albums, 'Sprinter' and 'Three Futures', and most recently her newest work is 'Silver Tongue' which is available through Merge Records.

This album is the first to be entirely produced by Scott, and I think this really comes out on the record, with her direction and ambition given the platform to blossom. The album clocks in at just over 35 minutes, with the 9 tracks recorded at O'Deer studios in Brooklyn. Her stark lyrics deal with love and relationships, whilst the music itself is equally bold with the percussion in particular standing out.
