Released through Luv Luv Luv Records on December 8th, 'Take' is the latest single from Sophie Jamieson. A Music Liberation favourite since we first listened to her debut EP 'Where' last year, we've been eager to keep a close eye on her movements in 2014, which culminates with this new track, as well as a showcase show for it at the Sebright Arms on December 9th.
'Take' is easily the most complex and full bodied track that Sophie has put out to date, hinting that her sound is naturally developing from the delicate instrumentation and softly delivered vocals of her early work, to a more wholesome, mature arrangement which only goes to further enhance her blossoming reputation as one of the most talented singer-songwriters out there.
Sophie explained to us how the song is about "being overwhelmingly aware that you mean nothing to a person, and that you are fast being, or soon to be, forgotten. It explores the irrational, angry unacceptance of
realising your insignificance. Beneath the unacceptance is an awareness
of giving in at last. The song is about all the hurt that has bottled up,
being released fully and finally and aggressively."
