ALBUM OF THE WEEK : FRED THOMAS - ALL ARE SAVED

ARTIST : FRED THOMAS
ALBUM : ALL ARE SAVED

'All Are Saved' is the eighth studio album from Fred Thomas, but it's the first we've heard of him at Music Liberation and it seems that theme of obscurity resonates with others too. After some digging we discovered he's been making music for the past 15 years and is perhaps most known for being the front man of Saturday Looks Good To Me, which didn't enlighten us much either but still his latest record is ace.

Released through Polyvinyl Records on the 7th April, the album's 11 tracks are a result of a years worth of recording/producing from Thomas in Detroit, Michigan, and Athens, Georgia, with some additional help from Drew Vandenburg (Of Montreal, Deerhunter), and guest additions from amongst others Andrew W.K!

'All Are Saved' is a heavy record, not sonically, but emotionally. With the vocals often spoken not sung, Thomas engages his listener with heartfelt words that draw upon nostalgia, pain, suffering, and anger. All of which is played out upon a bed of samples, guitar, synths, and dreamy pop beats. BUY 'ALL ARE SAVED'
